THE ROLE

We’re hiring a developer who builds web apps primarily by directing AI agents — not by typing every line of code themselves. This is a remote, part-time role to start (15-25 hours/week), with a clear path to full-time if the fit is right on both sides.

WHAT THIS ACTUALLY MEANS

We use an internal AI-driven build pipeline that handles most of the implementation work. Your job is to operate that pipeline: write clear requirements, review the code AI produces, catch what it gets wrong, decide what ships, and own the outcome end-to-end. You’re a builder. The work is real software development — features, bug fixes, integrations, deploys. The difference is that AI does most of the keyboard work, and you do most of the judgment work.

If you’ve been using Claude / Cursor / Copilot heavily and have started to feel like you’re spending more time directing the AI than writing code yourself — that’s the mindset. We’ve taken that further than most teams.

WHY EUROPE-PREFERRED

We’re expanding our market coverage into Europe and want our first European hire to anchor that. You’d be helping us understand the European market, ship product for European customers, and eventually grow the team locally. Italy and the broader Mediterranean region are of particular interest — but any European base works.

BONUS: MEET IN PERSON THIS AUGUST

The founder will be in Sicily August 15-30, 2026. Strong candidates in Europe — especially Italy — will have the option to meet in person for coffee, lunch, or aperitivo in Catania or Palermo. Not a requirement, but a chance to start the working relationship face-to-face if you’re in the region.

YOU’D BE A FIT IF YOU

– Have shipped web apps before (any stack — we’ll teach you ours)
– Are already building real things with AI tools, not just experimenting
– Can read code fluently and tell when it’s wrong, badly structured, or papering over a problem
– Like writing clear requirements and breaking work into pieces
– Get satisfaction from shipping, not from artisan craftsmanship
– Are comfortable when the AI is faster than you and that’s not threatening
– Speak fluent English (you’ll be writing requirements + reviewing code in English daily)
– Can commit 15-25 hours/week consistently to start

YOU’D STRUGGLE IF YOU

– Want to write every line yourself because that’s where the fun is
– Don’t trust AI-generated code under any circumstances
– Need to work in a stable, well-documented environment with predictable tooling (we’re moving fast and our tools change)

NICE TO HAVE (not required)

– Background in product or engineering management — the work overlaps more with PM than traditional dev
– Experience writing tests or reviewing pull requests at scale
– Comfortable with TypeScript / React / Python / AWS
– Based in Europe (especially Italy / Mediterranean / Iberia)

HOW THE ROLE GROWS

– Months 1-3: Part-time engagement (15-25 hrs/week), getting comfortable with our build pipeline + shipping real features
– Months 3-6: Continued part-time OR transition to full-time if both sides want to. Compensation rises accordingly.
– 6+ months: Full-time team member with broader scope (team-building in Europe, product ownership, etc.)

HOW TO APPLY

Send us:
1. Something you built recently with AI tools. We care more about what you’ve shipped than your resume.
2. A short note (3-4 sentences) on how you used the AI, what you reviewed/rejected, and what you’d do differently next time.
3. Your timezone, weekly availability, and target hourly/weekly rate.
4. Whether you’d be open to meeting in Sicily in August (yes/no/maybe — totally fine either way).
